on her butt - 2009-11-02- 6:03 p.m.

"on her butt “

Oh boy was it nice to leave for work and it was not dark outside. I was really hating the dark in the morning especially where road construction is and they change to roads and entrances and stuff. One day things are this way and the next morning in the dark it is all different and I get flustered, now Day light sure helps.

Wish I would get trick or treaters at my house but we never have out where we live. All the kids out there go into town to trick or treat and by the time they get back home they are tired and it is late. That does make my candy budget $0. Tat gets candy for him and the babies and we have a bowl around. He mostly gets M & M’s cause baby girl loves them. She knows they are Papa’s so she has to ask him and share with him. The candy container is by his side of the bed all the time too. I do like candy sometimes and I decided to get my favorite duel Saturday. I got a bag of pretzel rods and a bag of red licorice. I learned to love that combination when I was like 2nd grade. We lived in Chicago and there was a small corner store called Pasties. This cubby old guy owned and ran it. He had penny candy on the corner by the cash resister and there were two tall plastic containers one with rob and one with red licorice so I would get one of each and I ate then together. I grew to really like that taste too.

Pasty was a cool old guy to us kids. He would give us free stuff once in awhile. Not to often of course but once in awhile and we would try all the time to see when he would. My mom would send me there (with a note) to get some stuff on our account. And I would go there once a month to pay the account off. When I would pay it off he would give me something like panty hose to give to my mom. When she wanted me to get a pound of lunchmeat he would let me taste little bits of the meat so I would pick out what we wanted. My mom would say get spiced loaf so I would taste a few other ones then get what he asked for. I am sure he knew what I was doing but he let me do it. When we moved away my mom said she was glad I did not have to go there anymore cause he was ripping us off. I am sure the prices were higher there then at the big store but they did not give us an account. Mom said he would sometimes add to the account. I was too young to know that then or understand what she was saying really. So I stilled liked him and would go there anyway. My friends said their parents said the same thing about him and some would not get an account with him but we all still went in there when we would find a penny on the ground or get money. He did have the best candy around. My mom knew we were moving and did not tell us kids till the day before we moved. Mom had everything all set up but we did not know that. Well a few weeks before we moved my said I could get everything we needed for my friend’s birthday party. We sent me with a list for streamers, candy, Ice cream, and I could ever pick out a toy for her for a present. My mom and her mom were friends so her mom knew I was getting that stuff. There was about 5 or 6 of us that ran to his store and excitedly got all the stuff. He was very happy to help us and gave me the bill to take home to my mom. I do remember when I gave her the bill she laughed but I thought she was just happy. The party went well and her mom had made a cake. We decorated her backyard with the streamers and it looked great. We all played game and ate the candy and ice cream and cake. Then we moved. I remember saying something to my mom about the party and how I was glad he had it. Mom said Pasty was too cause he got paid back. It took me awhile but then I realized my mom did not pay that last bill and both her mom and mine were in on that one. I guess they were very mad at him. But now when I eat pretzel rods and red licorice I think of the fun we had at that store. Kids like the place but adults did not. I have many neat memories of when we lived in Chicago. We had a lot

My son and I really like cooking breakfast at my house on Sunday. He did a very good job on the sausage gravy I was impressed. The only thing is he does not realize how much bacon this group will eat. I made him get two packs for $5 and then made him cook it all up and really we were a bit short. He said we really should have had 3 packs. I wonder if we are going to do that again next week or are we going out again. It is cleaner and much easier to go out but I still did like them all over at my house. After we ate they took the kids to my daughter-in-law’s mother’s house. Then I went with Tat that early evening to take stuff to Billiam’s truck. My son had called me and I was not home so he knew the babies could not go to my house while they took Jedi home. I Bet his wife was not happy.

Billiam had his truck parked in Clinton and forgot his meat and stuff in his mom’s fridge. So we took it to him and then we were going to get his mom supper from Hy-vee but Billiam called just before we got to the store and had problems with his microwave that he had just bought. We went back across town to him and Tat had already told him he had bought a too powerful microwave. So he was ready to give us the new one and we took him across to Wal-Mart where he got another new one smaller this time. I was hum what will we do with the new one? But when we got it home my Tat and I switched it out with ours and my Dad said he would take ours in his room cause he likes the push button and his has a dial. So that worked out and now we have a spare that Bear will get when she gets a place again. She is looking still.

OMG Tat called me at work and asked if I was real busy. He sounded upset so I said what is up. I then found out my mom-in-law fell and he wanted me to go check on her. I left right away. When I got there her bath aid was there helping her get her shoes on. Mom-in-law said she did not fall she was going to get herself ready for a bath and kind of slipped and they could not stay that way and slid down and sat on the floor. She was not hurt. My son got called and came and helped her up then he left the bath aid with her. My husband is very upset cause he found out from his sister almost two hours away. She called again while I was there and I am sure she is ok now too. I let her talk to her mother. She now wants to get moved in there as fast as she can. I stayed till my husband got there. He is less shaky now. And she is ok now too.

Now I found out she really was working on getting ready for her bath on her own and somehow lend over the toilet and then got tired of standing there and slide down pulling everything she could grab down with her and ended on the floor on her butt.

Live hard, Love long, and Laugh often!!!!
